I’ll get to my favorite finds in a minute. However, I first want to let you in on one of my secrets.
This semester is crazy busy for me, and many classmates have asked how I find the time to do everything. However, the truth is that I can’t and don’t do everything.
I find new opportunities to pursue every day. Often times, they’re wonderful, exciting and would be great learning experiences. However, I choose not to add more responsibilities to my plate. I know my limits and don’t wish to spread myself too thin. I need more than three hours of sleep each night.
Grocery shopping, cooking, packing meals, exercising, working, going to school, studying for the LSAT, spending time with loved ones and blogging don’t just “happen.” I make these things happen. I prioritize. Maintaining a healthy, active life in which I’m challenged but not overwhelmed is a conscious choice.
The bottom line is that you either make your health a priority or you don’t. End of story. No excuses. You’ll never “find the time.” There are only 24 hours in a day. Do whatever you want with them.
On that note, here’s a few meals, snacks and other food products I’ve been loving lately. These quick, delicious finds give me the energy to lead an active, healthy life. I hope they help you do the same.

Granola bars typically keep me full for no more than 45 minutes, but these bars are different. They’re packed with 10 grams of pea protein, which keeps me energized and focused when I exercise after work but before dinner.
The company offers four flavors, but I’ve only tried the Peanut Butter Cookie and Lemon Pound Cake versions. I’m on the lookout for the Cinnamon Apple Crisp and Pumpkin Pie flavors.
I can’t seem to keep a bag of these Trader Joe’s sweet apple rings in my pantry for more than two days! I love biting into a fresh apple, but these slightly chewy rings are a nice change. They’re almost like apple chips but not quite as crunchy.
Did I mention that these rings are unsweetened? Yep. That’s right. Just apples in this bag.
I had a dollar-off coupon for these popped corn chips during the summer and decided to try them on a whim. Now I keep a bag in the pantry at all times.
The slightly sweet taste reminds me of popped kettle corn, but these suckers have the crunch of a good potato chip. I usually dig into the bag at night when my sweet tooth roars
I had basically given up on finding a “healthy” packaged macaroni and cheese until I found this brand in Target. The ingredient list is short, sweet and filled with ingredients I know and can pronounce.
I usually make the entire box. I eat half for one meal and the other half for lunch the next day. It packs well and tastes good cold.
As you can see, I mixed in chicken sausage and roasted broccoli on one occasion.
I’ve mentioned this dressing a handful of times in the past two weeks, so you know it must be good. If you haven’t made the Slow Cooker Chicken Caesar Sandwiches
recipe I posted, please do so as soon as possible.
Warning – you will fall in love with your slow cooker after taking one bite of this meal.
Chocolate Orange Breakfast Cookie Dough Cereal (recipe adapted from The Fitnessista)
I’ve been loving this cereal since March, but the chocolate and orange duo is my favorite flavor combination as of late.
I mix Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter with 1/3 cup oats, one tablespoon cocoa powder, 1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein, a dash of cinnamon and a few drops of vanilla extract. Then, I top it all off with 2 percent reduced-fat milk and slices of navel orange.
You might think the chocolate and orange flavor combo is weird, but please don’t judge until you’ve tried it! This duo also tastes good in smoothies, but I’ll get to that in a different post.
Happy Friday 🙂
