When I exercise, I get in and get out. No lingering in the gym. No wasted time.
Given this mindset, I sometimes forget to stretch properly before and after exercising. It’s a bad habit, but I know I’m not the only one.
As I mentioned Wednesday, this week was filled with group fitness class workouts, which reminded me how important stretching is to avoiding injury. Warming up and cooling down also decreases the likelihood that my muscles will be extremely sore the next day. They burn, but I can function.
I was certain this meme would describe my life after stadium conditioning Tuesday afternoon. The class kicked my butt! However, the dynamic stretches we completed before the workout kept my soreness to a minimum.
I plan to post a full stadium workout next week that requires no equipment. In the meantime, here’s a quick stadium warm-up plan you can use before any workout.
